He’s here to talk about A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, the adventurous third album from his shapeshifting pop group, the 1975. Discussing his songwriting, words like “deconstructed,” “anthological,” and “postmodern” come up a lot, and the record reflects his uncontainable philosophy of the world. It includes era-defining rock anthems and the tenderest of ballads; a jazz standard about keeping things casual and a glittery pop song about Healy’s decision to kick heroin. For good measure, there’s also a creepily funny monologue narrated by Siri.

The British group recently shared the visual for “TooTimeTooTimeTooTime,” which stars their fans. The new full-length follows I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it. Last year, they released a cover of Sade’s “By Your Side,” as well as the live album DH00278 (recorded in December 2016).

A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships is the third studio album by English pop rock band The 1975, scheduled to be released on 30 November 2018 by Dirty Hit and Polydor Records. It was produced by band members Matthew Healy and George Daniel, and is the band’s first album to not be produced by regular collaborator, Mike Crossey.

Following the release of the band’s second album, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It, Healy announced the album with a working title of Music for Cars, sharing the name with the band’s third extended play, although it was later clarified that Music for Cars was an “era” for the band, rather than a single album.

A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships was promoted by the campaign for “Music for Cars” and is the former of two albums released within the era; the latter, Notes on a Conditional Form, is expected to be released in May 2019. The band have released five singles from the album: “Give Yourself a Try”, “Love It If We Made It”, “TooTimeTooTimeTooTime”, “Sincerity Is Scary” and “It’s Not Living (If It’s Not with You)”.[6] The band will embark upon a world tour starting in January 2019.
